The controls in this inspector affect the selected column if there is one selected, otherwise it affects the column in which the cursor is currently located.

Selecting from the Type pop-up menu will change the column type and try to convert the data in the column to the new type.

The Summary pop-up list contains the possible summaries for the current column type; select one to use summaries, or select None to turn summaries off.

Certain column types add a Format pop-up menu to this inspector. Use it to set automatic formatting for data in the selected column.

When the column type is Pop-up List, this inspector will contain a field for editing the values that appear in the pop-up list. The field acts like a miniature outline; you can click items to edit them, drag items by their handles, and press Return or Delete to add or remove items.

When the column type is Duration, this inspector will contain controls for how to figure time arithmetic, such as how many hours should count as one day. Select one of the predefined settings or create a custom one. Select the Long Format checkbox to display durations with full words (hour, day, week) rather than abbreviations (h, d, w).
